Semi-Truck Involved in Multi Car Crash on I-10

Large vehicles, including trucks, semis, and 18-wheelers, are a necessary part of life in the Phoenix area. They provide not only jobs to countless residents but also the means necessary to keep things going in the area. From bringing in food and products to shipping across the nation, trucks play a vital role in the local economy.

While much about the trucking industry is positive, there are negatives that affect those who reside in or work in Phoenix as well. One of the more dangerous negatives is the risk for truck accidents and for the harm that might result if a truck accident occurs. While collisions with trucks are not as common as collisions involving only cars, the resulting damage tends to be much more severe and is more likely to cause injuries to the drivers and passengers involved.

Phoenix truck accidents may cause injured victims to seek medical care and help from a local hospital, an area physician, or a rehabilitative specialist so that the victim can relieve any pain and return to his or her pre-injury state. But this help is expensive and can leave victims wondering how they will pay for their bills and how their family will get by while they are unable to work. Fortunately, in Arizona, injury victims are protected by several laws that guarantee them the right to seek relief when another person is the cause of their damages. Through the use of a civil claim, these victims can obtain payment to cover all their losses including any medical costs they incur and the pain and suffering they endure. Further, victims can work with a personal injury attorney so that their rights are protected and so that they get the help they need for the relief they deserve.

A major collision on the I-10 in the West Valley occurred yesterday and caused significant traffic backups for motorists in the area. Now, police have confirmed that the incident was far more than an inconvenience for those involved as at least two victims had to be taken to hospitals with significant injuries.

The crash happened near the Stack and involved one FedEx semi-truck and several other passenger cars. It is not yet clear what started the collision but officials have confirmed that the semi-truck jackknifed, crossing lanes of traffic and striking other vehicles.

Emergency crews attended to all the injured at the scene and authorities worked at clearing the debris and vehicles following the crash, but the size of the incident meant that it was some time before all lanes of traffic were reopened. During the on-scene investigation, the ramp to northbound I-17 was closed.

If you were injured in a collision with a truck or if your loved one was hurt or killed, make sure you realize your legal rights under Arizona law and whether you have a valid claim. Failing to act upon your claim within a time period specified by law may bar you forever from obtaining relief and from holding those who are at-fault responsible for your suffering.
