It takes only a moment for a car accident to occur. A driver might lose control of a vehicle, or a tire might blow. A motorist may ignore a red light or might be distracted behind the wheel. Whatever the cause, most accidents happen in a matter of seconds which means that those involved may not see them coming or even have a clear understanding of what happened.
After the dust settles on a crash, it can still take time to sort through the details and have a complete understanding of all the factors that led up to and contributed to the impact. Often, professional accident reconstructionists get involved to aid local law enforcement officials with their reviews. But the victims of these crashes are not usually kept informed at each step of the process, leaving them wondering what happened and whether a collision could have been prevented.
When an accident is caused by negligence or reckless conduct, those in the Phoenix area may be entitled to seek relief for their losses by bringing a claim for their injuries against an at-fault driver and/or an insurance company. To aid them through this process, victims are endowed with the right to hire a personal injury lawyer to represent them and fight for their interests at every turn, regardless of what type of injuries they sustained.
In the most tragic incidents, someone is killed in a drunk driving car accident and it is those who loved that victim who are left behind. While no amount of money can ever be considered adequate in those cases, family members may still be able to recover payment to help ease the financial burden left behind after their loved one’s passing.
A devastating collision that happened recently in Tucson is now believed to have been caused by a driver under the influence of alcohol, according to local authorities. The crash happened on July 27, 2015 near the intersection of North Country Club Road and East 6th Street in the early morning hours with a 26-year-old man behind the wheel. The driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, causing the car to leave the road’s surface and collide with a nearby palm tree.
Three adult passengers in the vehicle lost their lives in the crash. One of those victims, a female, was pregnant and her unborn baby also died. Now, authorities have stated that the driver of the vehicle was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash and is being charged with four counts of homicide as a result.
When a loved one or a family member is killed, nothing can erase the harm that was caused. But there still may be an option to help those who are left behind to move forward after a crash should they choose to take legal action.
