Car Accident involving a Van Kills One on I-17

Car accidents are the leading cause of unintentional death among older teenagers who are killed both while drivers and while passengers in vehicles that are involved in a collision. While the dangers that are posed by teen drivers are often touted by the media, the fact remains that collisions and other traffic-related incidents cause injuries and even death to motorists of all ages and in all states in the country.

Phoenix is no exception to this as car accidents happen every day in the Valley. These collisions range from relatively minor fender-benders to extreme accidents involving multiple cars. Often, those involved in a crash are unaware that they may possess rights independent of any action taken by local law enforcement officials and that these rights can enable victims to obtain financial compensation.

When a car accident can be blamed on the negligence or reckless conduct of a driver, anyone hurt in that incident may be able to bring a legal claim for damages against the at-fault motorist and/or an insurance company. These claims are different than any traffic tickets or criminal charges that may issue from the accident and victims must act affirmatively to make sure their rights are protected. When an incident occurs in Phoenix, those who are hurt have the right to work with a personal injury attorney through the process and to enable them to get the maximum relief possible.

However, some accidents cause damages that can never be fully recouped, especially in the case where a loved one or a family member is killed. On Sunday evening, one such tragic crash happened on I-17 near McGuireville and police have confirmed that one person involved lost his or her life as a result.

Facts surrounding the collision are not yet clear but officials have stated that a car and a van collided in the area, causing substantial damage and leading to the closure of roads in the area. It did not appear that anyone else sustained significant injuries due to the collision.
